Birthday Cake

The cake didn't turn out exactly like I had hoped. I have to agree with James, the "tendrils" are too heavy. They should be a little thinner. I think it looks like an Octopus is laying under the flowers. This was my first attempt at a bow and I wasn't too pleased with it, but I went with it anyways. The ribbon should've also been a little thinner. Good practice I guess, but I can be a little anal about things. Hopefully it'll taste good ! Alternating layers of chocolate butter cake and golden butter cake with cookies and cream filling, covered in chocolate fondant. Thanks for looking !

On another note, only because it just crossed my mind, and I don't mean to make anyone puke this morning, but.......you know what I love ???

(cue the songbirds)

I love falling asleep holding James' hand. Sorry, I have issues......

Now why would anyone puke over that statement ? You should love to fall asleep holding his hand, that is until hot flashes hit but that's another story.
What could make me throw up in my mouth a little is the thought of an octopus under the flowers. You know I think of them as giant sea spiders..yyyuuuucckkkk.....

I think your cake is freakin' awesome!!!

I wish I could bake like that, but alas, I can not. What I see in my head never quite translates to the pan.

Great Job!!

It was a beautiful cake and very yummy, too. Tonya brought home a tiny piece for Jill and me to share. You are quite a talented lady...
