Birthday Girl
It's hard to believe that Emma is 6 year's old today ! Time definitely flies. I'm ok with her turning 6. No emotional break-downs just yet. But, NEXT year....that could be another story. There's something about her turning 7, that changes her from my baby to a big kid. I don't know, maybe I'm just crazy.
We had a great time this past weekend at her circus party and if my internet at home would ever start working again, I'll post the pictures to my Flickr. I do have a few that I can share that were taken by my mom. I'll post those on here soon.
This morning as I was fixing Emma's hair she was telling me how she couldn't believe how much she's grown since yesterday. She kept measuring herself about chest high to the bathroom counter, which, according to her, was about 2 inches higher in comparison to her yesterday. Everything she did this morning she said "that was the first time I did _____ being 6". She pointed out all her "firsts", including bodily functions. I found it very amusing. I love that kid. She's a hoot !

Addition to the "Vain" post
I'm looking to tackle the fine lines now, before they become wrinkles :)
Vain (forgive me please)
So, here's the deal....I don't mind getting older, but I do mind LOOKING old. I know it's the wrong way to be and I know I'm being vain, but I just can't help it. I will be turning 32 in a couple of months and it's, by far, not old, but as I was looking in the mirror this morning I couldn't help but notice the fine lines that are showing up. Thankfully, we haven't added wrinkles to the mix, but the fine lines are definitely there. I'm sure to the "untrained" eye they are not visible, but I can see them ! So, I guess I need some Botox. Just kidding. I would like for my face to continue moving and showing some expression, but I definitely need to start thinking about using some kind of face cream. I should've been using it all along. I've put it off long enough ! I really don't know what to buy though. I've always been a makeup fanatic, but not a skin care guru. Guess I'll be doing some Googling later today......

My man
Doesn't he just look really awesome in this picture ? Well, I think he does anyways. Last night James played softball and Emma and I were fortunate enough to get to go watch this week. I tend to give James a hard time some times about sports, but the truth is, I DO enjoy going and and more than that, I love getting to see him play. I love seeing him so serious and so passionate about something. I feel proud when he hits the ball. He can smack a ball harder and further than anything I've ever seen. I know it sounds silly, but I can't help that I feel that way. I was sad to only get to see one of his games last night, but it was a school night, so Emma and I headed home early. I left feeling very happy, very fullfilled and very happy for James. I'm ready for the next game !
